HEALING with Communion - Part VI

The Cross is the Exchange

We've talked about the cross as being the central theme from ages past to those to come. It is the most significant event in all of history. Note the worship in heaven in the book of Revelation chapter 5, verses 12 and 13 ...Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. ...Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. This Lamb is the Lord Jesus that has redeemed us from our sin as stated in I Peter 1: 19 and 20 " But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation (emphases mine) of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,".

The cross is the point of exchange. Unless you see Jesus taking all your sin, sickness, and disease in exchange for His righteousness you will never be in a position to receive all God has for you.

This is why communion was the central theme of the early church. Acts 2:46 says they went from "house to house breaking bread". Salvation means so much more than just dying and going to Heaven. The Greek word translated salvation ‘soteria' includes safety, rescue, deliverance, and health. We need those things here on earth! And He's provided them for us at the cross.

His blood was shed as our Passover Lamb and His body was broken for us. This is why they had to eat the lamb not just spread the blood on the doorposts of their homes. In Exodus 12 verses 8,9,and 10 we read... "And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire."
When we eat the bread of communion we need to understand that His body was broken for us; for our healing, deliverance, safety, and rescue. When we think of the ‘exchange' we can take on the very characteristics of Christ every time we take communion.

The communion service should be a healing service. Your healing can be progressive. In communion you can believe every day to obtain a little more healing. By this very act you can exercise enough faith for a gradual healing. A little goes a long way when we put our trust in God! God's plan was so complete and so intricate in every way and in every detail. As we have read here today that it was set in motion ‘before the foundation of the world'. Even during the 40 years in the wilderness God's plan was on display. If you click on Mr. Bill's Word Search you will see the camping setup of the 12 Hebrew tribes around the Wilderness Tabernacle. The Tabernacle faced East and the most tribes camped in that direction which would be toward the bottom of the page. The others to the West, North, and South were about equal. Their black tents arranged around the Tabernacle, as directed by God, would form the shape of a cross. Where the word searches are located would be their flocks and herds. For 40 years the cross would make its way across the desert. If God saw fit to even arrange for this detail don't you see that He has provided for you in every detail!

God is not only Wonderful... He's Full of Wonder !
